    Singular and Expressive

    Vintage

    The year 2013 has been a good year for white wines. Rainfall has been higher than normal while temperatures have been low during the early and mid-cycle.

    This has provided greater vegetative growth providing more acidic grapes and fresh and fruity aromas.

    Vineyards

    The terroir of Briones in Rioja Alta (Viura and Malvasia) and Tudelilla, oriental Rioja, with a vineyard 700 meters located in the foothills of the Sierra Carbonera (Tempranilla white).

    White Tempranillo is indigenous, minority and exclusive white variety of DOQa Rioja. Bodegas Vivanco, through this wine, is a pioneer in the use of this grape by providing the target of a unique personality and uniqueness.

    Vintage

    Each variety is harvested by hand in small boxes and separately. All the grapes remain in cold storage for 36 hours before processing selection table.

    Elaboration

    Each variety is made separately. After a short maceration of whole grape clusters cold (10-12 hours), only the tear must obtained is fermented in small stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature (12-15 ° C) to conserve all the varietal expression . The wines obtained remain in contact with the lees in stainless steel tanks for 4 months to preserve the varietal aromas against oxidation and give it greater harmony and smoothness on the palate.

    Our bottle is inspired by the original of s. XVIII visitable in the Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture.

    Tasting notes

    Appearance: Pale yellow with green hues, clean and bright.

    On the nose: The nose is expressive, intense and complex, with aromas of citrus, green apple, white peach, accompanied by elegant floral notes.

    On the palate: The palate is very fresh, balanced and inviting to drink and enjoy.

    Serving and Pairing

    Serve at a temperature of between 6 and 10 ° C.

    Ideal for consumption by the glass as an aperitif or with all kinds of tapas. It's a good choice to enjoy with soft rice, all kinds of salads, white meats, cold creams, plus seafood.

    Coneix el Winery: Dinastía Vivanco

    Bodegas Vivanco està situada a Briones, enclau privilegiat de La Rioja Alta, en els contraforts de la Sierra de Cantabria i a ribes del Riu Ebro. Una zona de suau microclima i extraordinaris terres argilo-calcàris.

    Al voltant del celler trobem la Finca El Cantillo, que rep aquest nom per la quantitat de cantonades rodades al terra. L´Ull de Llebre és la varietat fonamental, però no l´única. En aquesta vinya també podem trobar altres varietats que utilitzem en els nostres vins: Graciano, Garnatxa, Samsó, Viura, Malvasia, etc.

    El celler, subterrani, és funcional i estètic. L´edifici es va realitzar sota terra amb l´objectiu d´eliminar la menor part possible de vinya i per minimitzar l´impacte ambiental a favor de la conservació del paisatge. Al fer el celler subterrani, també s´aconseguia afavorir unes condicoins de temperatura i humitat equilibrades de forma natural tot l´any, imprescindibles per la bona conservació i criança del vi en bota o en tines de roure.

    El disseny en acer corten es deu a que es tracta d´un material noble i en segon lloc en que al provocar la oxidació al construir-lo, ja roman així en l´ambient tant humit del propi celler.

    L´esperit vitivinícola i pioner de Rafael Vivanco es veu reflexat, a més de en els seus vins, en l´experimentació i invesigació sobre diferents mètodes de cultiu i d´elaboració, en la utilització de varietats minoritàries o en la criança en roure de diverses procedències.
