One of five classic varietal wines from Sumarroca, made for more than 25 years from the vineyards on the Sumarroca estate.
A wine made from the Arnan plot planted in 1985. Chalky land, poor in organic material and with gravel remains.
The 2014 harvest began with heavy rains in November, followed by a mild and very dry winter. Budbreak was some days earlier than in previous years. Rains of up to 60 litres at the start of budbreak promoted healthy growth. Spring was mild, especially during the daytime, and rather dry. There was no consistent rainfall until towards the end of May. Temperatures rose considerably in June and the weather was very humid. Daytime temperatures were moderate for the rest of the summer with normal lows and some rain. Harvesting began a little later than usual and production was down on the previous year.
Average intensity bright yellow colour, with greenish reflections. Pleasant, delicate aroma recalling jasmine and rose flowers combined with fruity aromas of vine peaches. In the mouth it is silky and fresh, with very intense floral notes. Long, perfumed aftertaste.
Short maceration prior to fermentation at 10ºC for 4 hours to draw out the variety’s full complexity. Gentle pressing and static filtration for 24 hours. Fermentation at 14ºC for 20 days. Transfer to stand in stainless steel prior to bottling.
