A distinctive rosé with elegant fruit selected from the most suitable Pinot Noir vines to bring the personality of this variety to the Penedès region
The grapes come from the Rosendo plot in the Santa Creu area (municipality of Piera). This is the highest part of the estate (around 300 m in altitude) where the land has more gravel and lime.
The 2013 vintage began with heavy rains in October but there was virtually no rainfall for the rest of the winter and temperatures were very mild. Towards the end of February and March the temperatures dropped, which delayed bud-break a little. The weather became much hotter in April, however, although at the end of the month rainy weather set in, bringing temperatures in May down to levels more typical of February. Temperatures remained low in June, and it was July before the hot, dry weather arrived. The weather in August and September, as the grapes ripened, was cool, especially at night. Harvesting began a week later than usual, with significant gaps between the dates on which each variety was collected.
An intense, highly complex wine, with both floral and fruity notes of violets and strawberries. Soft on the palate, elegant, fullbodied and smooth. Persistent strawberry flavoured undertones on the palate and in the aftertaste.
Maceration in press at 12ºC for 12 hours to draw the variety’s colour and personality. Gentle pressing and static filtration for 24 hours. Fermentation at 16ºC for 19 days. Racking and bottling.
