Cava is a type of wine made with the champenoise method as champagne, but with different grape varieties. Mainly used varieties are Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada, all indigenous to the Penedès region.
Macabeo is the variety most commonly used in the production of champagne has floral aromas and subtle fruit flavor and fruit.
